THE BIG SIT!, BIRD-WATCHING’S MOST SEDENTARY EVENT

On Sunday, October 13th, bird-watching teams from all corners of the world will enter 17-foot diameter circles and record every bird they see or hear from their circles during a 24 hour period, beginning at midnight. This “tailgate party for birders” was founded by the New Haven (CT) Bird Club 28 years ago. Here at the Nature Center we will only be counting from dawn to dusk. Over the 17 years NCSL has participated, 94 species have been recorded so far. Stop by and say hello on Oct. 13th or register to participate.
