Kim Woodford of Journey on Yonder found her own joy in nature and is now helping communities of color find theirs. As a young girl, Kim always had an appreciation for playing outside. As an adult, she has reconnected to outdoor spaces through hiking, kayaking, gardening, becoming an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, Tree Steward and Outdoor Afro leader. Throughout her four years leading hikes with Outdoor Afro, Kim introduced over 300 people of color to outdoor spaces within our beautiful national and local parks. Each experience resulted in much more than a hike! Participants shared meaningful connections, celebrating a shared love for nature, which ultimately inspired Kim to start Journey on Yonder. Please join us to hear Kim’s journey of hope, wellness and community impact.
