Join Nicole Jackson as she shares about her work blending equity, mental health, and relationship building into environmental education and outreach.
Growing up with 10 other siblings in inner-city Cleveland, Ohio, Nicole Jackson loved learning and eventually became a first generation college graduate earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Education from The Ohio State University. She began her college career wanting to become a veterinarian and realized she wanted to connect more people of color to nature after completing an avian technician internship. By networking with others in her field, Nicole was able to find community and resources to help foster her passion for connecting more people of color to the outdoors. She has done environmental education programming and outreach for youth, families and other educators. Important topics that she focuses on within her work include equity, mental health, and relationship building.
